Nissan Skyline

REVEIW:

General impressions:

Can I really call this car Skyline now? I have changed the engine and I only wanted to leave the ring-shaped tail lamps. The new Toyota Crown Athlete’s tail lamps are fairly cool (at least it seems to me). Why throw away?.. It’s as if I’ve implanted Skyline’s features into a Toyota! However the design is splendid!..
I don’t want to decide for you whether to buy V35 Skyline or not, but honestly, pre-R34 models are all typical Skyline! (including the RB, design and everything else)
If you show those lamps to a person who doesn’t know much about cars, even if it is your teenage girlfriend, she will easily tell it is a Skyline…
I often travel to San Francisco and I’ve seen a lot of V35’s there!
V35 with the steering wheel on the left is awesome! Just imagine a perfect picture of a young white woman with her child riding in a black V35 under the blue skies of California!! However I’m very happy with the interior which is truly Japanese…
OK, sorry for the digression. I like the design, but I would recommend this car to those who do not care much about the interior (obvious, isn’t it…). People whose main priority is motion are going to appreciate Skyline greatly! To those who prefer better interior I’d advise buying a Toyota!

What I like in this car:

Even though I thought the engine was not the perfect one, it turned out surprisingly powerful (it even seems it’s a 3-liter one).
Quiet. The steering wheel feels really good (very comforting to grasp)!
The chassis: not too hard and not too soft, just what one needs.
The exterior. Unlike the interior, it has a more high-class feel to it. Black is good. The look from the outside is just great!..
And so on, and so forth.

What I dislike in this car:

The interior. I’m running out of words here. The so called central console as well as what surrounds the shift lever are so crude… Not sure I’m going to get used to it… Just think of it, wood-grain central console!! Absolutely horrible! I can’t stop wondering - where’s the sense here?! No balance, totally ridiculous…
And there’s also this idling sound heard from the outside…
And the cassette player nowadays…
